Terms of use

These terms apply to Glop's website, accounts, uploads, and connected creator tools.

Who can use Glop

You must be at least 13 to create an account. If you are under 18 or the age of legal majority where you live, you must have your parent or legal guardian’s permission to use Glop, and they should review these terms with you. Do not misrepresent your age. Glop is a general-interest creative platform, not a service directed to children under 13. Sexual content is prohibited regardless of your age.

Your account

Keep your password and creator tokens secure. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Do not share access, impersonate others, or evade a suspension. Report suspected unauthorized access through our reporting form. You may add an optional recovery email. It is not automatically verified, and automated password-reset emails are not available. Contact us if you lose access; we must verify ownership before restoring access.

Your uploads and permission to host them

You retain your rights in your content. You must have the rights and permissions needed to upload it, including for code, music, images, trademarks, and personal information. You grant Glop a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, copy, process, display, perform, and distribute your content as needed to operate and protect the service and provide the sharing features you select. We may allow our service providers to do this work for us. This license is limited to operating the service and does not transfer ownership of your work.

Published glops are available to other signed-in users, subject to any invitation restrictions. Source downloads are enabled unless you hide them. Enabling downloads authorizes delivery of those copies; it does not automatically place your work under an open-source license or grant unrestricted commercial reuse. Specify a license if you want to grant additional rights. Hiding source does not make client-side code secret from someone who can run it.

You can unpublish or delete content using the available controls. Copies already downloaded by others cannot be recalled. Limited retention may be necessary for backups, security, legal obligations, and resolving disputes.

Other people's content and services

Glops are uploaded by their creators. We do not guarantee that their content, code, advice, or downloads are accurate, lawful, secure, or suitable for your purpose. Use care before running downloaded files or sending information to a creator's external service. Separate licenses and third-party terms may apply. Do not infringe other people's rights.

Moderation and service availability

We may restrict content or accounts that violate these terms or community rules, create security risks, or must be restricted by law. We may terminate repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances. You may report a concern or appeal a decision using the reporting form. We may change or discontinue features; keep your own copies of work you need.

Disclaimers and responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Glop is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, or uninterrupted availability. To the extent permitted by law, Glop's operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits your mandatory consumer rights.

Applicable law and questions

These terms are governed by New York law and applicable United States federal law, except where the mandatory laws of your jurisdiction provide otherwise. Nothing here waives rights that cannot legally be waived. Please contact us about a dispute so we can try to resolve it.

Changes

We will identify updated terms with a new version and notify users of material changes. Where agreement is required, we will request it before applying the changed terms. These terms do not transfer ownership of your content to Glop.

Privacy notice

Information the service handles

Glop stores your username, a salted password hash, account creation time, authentication sessions, connected-tool credentials, and any optional recovery email you provide. It records the version and time of your policy agreement, your confirmation that you are 13 or older (or an age range you previously declared), and your personalization choice. We do not ask for your full birth date at signup. It stores uploads, drafts, posts, comments, stars, follows, and settings. Viewing-based personalization is off by default. Users aged 13 and older can separately opt in at signup or in Account, and can decline without losing access to Glop. If you opt in, we record viewing time, activity, skips, and viewed posts to rank the discovery feed, together with your stars and follows. Recommendations can compare these signals with those of other opted-in accounts. Ranking uses up to 30 days of viewing history, bounded to 500 recent records. With personalization off, discovery shows recent posts; your explicit stars and follows still power your Starred and Following feeds. Turning personalization off deletes your active recommendation viewing history and stops its collection. Existing aggregate view counts are not undone. For operational statistics, we count daily public page loads and sample server resource usage. These statistics do not store visitor identifiers, IP addresses, or individual browsing histories, and do not personalize the feed. Multiplayer and shared-storage features store room identifiers, messages, presence, and data written by glops. Do not put confidential information in shared game state.

When you submit a report, we collect its contents, your contact email, any signature or statements, and review records. Network requests expose technical information such as IP addresses and browser information to our hosting and security providers. The application uses hashed network identifiers for rate limiting. Operational logs and backups may contain personal information.

Cookies and access

If an under-13 signup is attempted, an essential glop_age_ineligible cookie blocks further signup attempts in that browser for one day. The essential slophive_session cookie keeps you signed in and ordinarily expires after seven days. Hosting or security services may set their own necessary cookies. Session storage remembers whether you dismissed the recovery-email prompt in the current browser session. Blocking cookies may prevent sign-in. Logging out ends the current session; it does not delete your account or content.

Visibility and sharing

Your username and published content are visible to the audiences you share with. Drafts and invitation-restricted content have access controls, but administrators and service providers may access stored information for operations, moderation, support, or legal obligations. Anyone who receives content can make their own copy.

Optional voice chat uses your microphone only after you choose to join and grant browser permission. Audio is sent to other participants using WebRTC; direct connections can reveal your network address to them. Connection services, including Google's public STUN service and any configured relay, process connection information. Glop does not implement server-side voice recording, but other participants may record what they hear.

Active glops can retrieve external content and exchange data with external HTTPS and secure WebSocket services through Glop’s relay. Those services receive the content the glop sends and the relay’s network address; Glop does not automatically forward your account credentials or browser cookies. External operators have their own privacy practices. Creators must explain their external data use. Avoid entering sensitive information into glops. New SDK network activity is stopped when the glop is inactive, although information already sent cannot be recalled.

Some glops ask permission to connect to a creator-operated homeserver. If you approve, that server receives the data exchanged with it, subject to its own practices. Glop cannot control how that separate operator uses information. Avoid providing sensitive information.

Providers and location

Glop is operated from the United States. Its deployments use hosting and infrastructure providers, including OpenAI/ChatGPT Sites and Cloudflare, as well as infrastructure for our own server deployment. Password reset emails are delivered through Resend, which receives the destination email address and reset message. Reports sent by email are handled through Gmail. These providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Optional creator-operated homeservers are separate services, as described above.

Use, retention, and requests

We use information to provide accounts and sharing, save progress, personalize the feed when enabled, prevent abuse, investigate reports, and comply with legal obligations. We may share information with service providers working for us, where legally required, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a lawful business transfer.

Information is retained while needed for these purposes, including applicable backup, security, and legal needs. There is no automatic account-deletion control yet. Use the privacy category in our reporting form to request access, correction, deletion, or other rights available under applicable law. We may need to verify account ownership and may retain information where legally required. Do not send your password. Browser Do Not Track signals do not currently change Glop's processing.

To make a privacy request, use the reporting form or the contact details at the end of this document. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your information, withdraw consent, or complain to an appropriate authority. We do not currently sell personal information or use third-party behavioral advertising. We will update this notice when our practices change and identify the revision date.

Children and teenagers

Accounts are not available to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us with the account name. We will investigate, restrict the account where appropriate, and address removal of information as required by law. Do not send identification documents or a child’s private information with the initial report. All accounts, including those of teenagers, use the non-personalized feed unless they separately opt in; ordinary account, security, and requested service features still require some data processing. We use that information to provide those features and protect users.

Community rules

• Upload only content you have permission to share. Respect copyright, privacy, and publicity rights.
• No sexual exploitation, child sexual abuse material, sexual content involving minors, or sexual solicitation of minors. No intimate images shared without consent, including synthetic or AI-generated images.
• No pornography or explicit sexual content.
• No threats, targeted harassment, hateful abuse, doxxing, stalking, or impersonation.
• No malware, credential theft, scams, malicious downloads, sandbox escapes, or attempts to compromise another user's device or data.
• No illegal sales, promotion of violence, spam, or manipulation of accounts, views, and engagement.
• Do not collect personal information through a glop without a lawful basis and clear notice. Obtain consent where required.
• Follow restrictions on private and invitation-only content. Do not evade moderation or access controls.

Report violations or appeal a moderation decision. Provide links and enough detail for review. False or abusive reports may themselves violate these rules.

Copyright complaints

Use the copyright category in the reporting form to identify the work, the allegedly infringing material and its exact location, your contact information, and your electronic signature. Include a good-faith statement that the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent, or the law, and a statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.

We review reports and may remove content or restrict accounts. We may terminate repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances. An uploader who believes a removal was mistaken may use the appeal category to request review. Send copyright concerns using the reporting form or the contact details at the end of this document. We have not yet registered a designated DMCA agent with the U.S. Copyright Office. This contact process is available now, but we do not represent that agent registration or all requirements for a DMCA safe harbor have been completed.

Intimate images shared without consent

If an intimate photo or video of you was published without your consent, including a synthetic depiction, you or an authorized representative can use the intimate-image category in our reporting form. Provide enough information to locate it, a brief explanation, contact information, an electronic signature, and the form's good-faith statement. You do not need an account, and should not send a copy of the image.

We review these requests for prompt removal. For valid requests covered by the U.S. TAKE IT DOWN Act, we remove the depiction as soon as possible and within 48 hours of receipt, and make reasonable efforts to identify and remove known identical copies. Tell us about any duplicate links you know of. You can also email the contact at the end of this document with the subject “Intimate-image removal.” If the form fails, use email. Contact emergency services for immediate danger.
